Skyscraper 02: Advice from Powera

Description

Skyscraper currently about 12ft tall is in her newly acquired warehouse to setup her lab and on her laptop, Skyscraper gets a message from Powera which is somehow projected from her ordinary laptop like in Star Wars.

Powera, the 8ft tall genius powerhouse is from a parallel universe similar to Angel Falls. Also, Powera is similar to Skyscraper as Powera is a scientist who wants super powers. She achieved her goal but she wants more power to defeat her enemies Fuerza and Olga "ReisigeFrau" Svensen.

To find out how Skyscraper and Powera first met, you can read the story posted in a journal

So, you want to ditch the giantess powers and gain a powerset that includes flight, super-strength, nigh invulnerability and some energy projection.

Sounds like a very sensible upgrade to me. Giantess powers are for losers. Not that there's anything wrong with being a bit bigger, just to let people know who's boss. Just once you can't fit inside buildings anymore, you're doing it wrong. Who wants powers where the name "thunder thighs" becomes an accurate description anyway?

(plus, I hear that being giantess for too long does weird things to your sex life. Not that I'd spread rumors about anyone in particular...)

Ah, but Flight / Strength / Invulnerability? Now that's a logical set of powers. A more.... elegant... approach, if you will. Raw power, and sets yourself above the mere mortals who will envy you to know end. And you can't go wrong with the classics.

As to advice... Well, I think I've got some insight in to how to properly imbue superpowers into oneself. I've got a proven track record overall.

Now, I'm not about to share my exact methods. And, they probably wouldn't work for you anyway, since superpowers seem to work a bit differently in my world than in the the world of Angel Falls. However, I can give you some strategic advice, based on my own experience.

1) Take your time to plan and gather resources.
To make things work, you're going to need high-tech lab equipment, computers to run simulations, rare materials, specialized generators to provide the massive energies you need, all sorts of things. That's going to take money, and also secure, secret places to store all the stuff you'll need.

Don't rush in and just get part of what you need, then find halfway through the process, you need more power, or more rare chemicals or what have you. Because halfway through an experiment is no time have to dash and make an emergency supply run with no time to plan. Those type of last-minute needs are when you're likely to slip up and get sloppy. And that's when the so-called "heroes" are mostly like to get annoying.

So, get some money in the bank first. Do some favors for people who can help you. Rob banks, pull off heists, do some super-powered mercenary work. Then make detailed list of what you need and how to get it. Being impatient early on can cost you later, when your lack of planning destroys everything you've worked for.

2) Steal the work of others, then IMPROVE on it.

There's a lot of people out there researching superpowers. They've done some work for you, take advantage of it.

But don't stop there. After all, some corporations and governments can make there own superhumans, but the tend to be second-rate at best. You'll need to have your own genius, your own insight, to take it the next level. However powerful the standard superhuman is in your world, you want to be WAY above that. So, it's up to you to take the research that's already been done, and improve it, tailor it to yourself. You want to be one of the best, one of the heavy hitters, right? Well, if it was easy, everyone would do it. Draw on lots and lots of different research sources, then add your own twist to it. It's the only way to stay ahead of the curve.

3) Be careful who you trust.

You're going for a big prize here. No doubt, lots of people would love to steal your results and have them for themselves. Keep your cards close to the vest, and do everything you can to tailor your empowerment process so it only works on you.

I did the best I could myself, but still that annoying little snot of super-hacker, Mr. N used my bio-reactor chamber on one of my security guards who betrayed me, and created Fuerza. Still sticks in my craw, that does...

4) Control and focus your attitude and your ambitions.

When molding yourself for superpowers, your mind is your greatest asset... and your greatest danger. A slight subconscious doubt or a weakness of will could undermine your empowerment at the last moment. These powers and energies will respond to your thoughts if you succeed. So, be ready. Visualize, meditate, use positive reinforcement through psychological techniques. Train your mind to seize the power when it flows into your body.

If you aren't willing to spend at least an hour each day focusing on how badly you want this power, reminding yourself that the universe owes you this glory, and stoking your passion to succeed in this endeavour... well, then you don't deserve this prize.

5) Be ambitious.

So, you want to be Ultrawoman, huh? Well, I say shoot higher. You should to be Ultrawoman, only half-a-foot taller, with broader shoulders and bigger muscles. Why have all her power, and MORE? When you debut after your apotheosis, let people think Ultrawoman is your little sister... At least that's what **I** would do, if I lived in your dimension.

Oh, and and if you are looking for any improvements on your bustline, work that into the process of your physical improvement. Plastic surgery doesn't work after getting invulnerability. Just saying. Worked really well for me, after all. :)

Best of luck with your efforts at gaining power. Of course, if we lived in the same dimension, I'd have to crush you before you became a rival. But, as things are, I can wish you well from afar and know that we can be allies if I ever end up in Angel Falls again. Good luck, my sister in power... may you crush all those who oppose you...

One of these days I have a feeling that Skyscraper is gonna finally figure out how to become just as powerful as Ultrawoman! :sprint:
